ProSSHD is a product for securely integrating the Microsoft Windows and TCP/IP network environments. ProSSHD is an inexpensive and effective way to transform a standard PC running under MS Windows (2000/2003/XP/Vista) into a multi-function terminal.
We have developed an SSH client and server for Windows providing maximum security from PC to Host over a Company LAN/WAN/Intranet or Internet all on one complete package. It brings you typical remote system administration, file transfers, and access to corporate resources over the Internet.
By using the industry standard Secure Shell (SSH1/SSH2) protocol for remote logins, intended to provide secure encrypted communication between two untrusted hosts over an insecure network, the package brings you typical remote system administrating, file transferring, and access to corporate resources over the Internet. With its support of SSH1/SSH2, the package brings Security to your PCs, company LAN/WAN, or Intranet.
Telnet/SSH is an SSH client.
It is a superb terminal emulator/telnet client for Windows. It provides SSH capabilities without sacrificing any of existing functionality. Furthermore, Telnet/SSH has been developed entirely outside of the USA, and can be sold anywhere in the world (apart from places where people aren't allowed to own cryptographic software).
Telnet/SSH includes the following features :
Compatibility with SSH-1 protocol (version 1.5) and now SSH-2
Manual settings of Telnet/SSH.
- all SSH-settings are located in the "tProSSHD.ini" ini-file;
How ProSSHD works
ProSSHD (Secure Shell) is a program for logging into a remote host (with an installed SSH server (sshd))and for executing commands in a remote machine. It replaces telnet, rlogin and rsh, while providing a securely encrypted communication between two untrusted hosts over an insecure network. X11 connections and arbitrary TCP/IP ports can also be forwarded over the secure channel.
ProSSHD connects and logs into the specified host. The user must prove identity to the remote machine using one of several methods.
Firstly, ProSSHD implements the RSA authentication protocol. The user creates its own RSA key pair by running the ssh-keygen program on the remote host. This stores the private key in .ssh/identity and the public key in .ssh/identity.pub in the user's home directory.
The user should then copy the identity.pub to .ssh/authorized_keys in their own home directory on the remote machine and copy the identity file to the ProSSHD home directory. After this, the user can log in giving the pass phrase. RSA authentication is high secure authentication.
The second authentication method is the password method. The password is sent to the remote host for checking, however, since all communications are encrypted, the password cannot be seen by someone listening on the network.
When the user's identity has been accepted by the server, the server logs into the machine and gives the user a normal shell on the remote machine. All communication with the remote shell will be automatically encrypted.
